Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Why can't I find my printer in the list?
  • The printer might not be compatible. See the Supported printers section.
  • If the printer is not supported you might be able to use the Samsung Mobile Print Photo app or the Samsung Print Service Plugin app instead (if supported).
    Hinweis:
    The Samsung Print Service Plugin is a Samsung Print plugin for a Samsung Printer that is typically is installed by default on Samsung Brand devices. It does not have an icon but is used by default when printing using the Share icon from the Gallery or other applications when the plug-in is enabled.
  • You might need to turn on the Samsung Print Service Plugin.
    1. Open the Samsung Mobile Print app.
    2. Open Settings, Connections, and More connection settings.
    3. Open Printing and enable the Samsung Print Service Plugin.
    4. Close the Samsung Mobile Print app.
  • You might need to add the printer. For instructions, go to one of the following support documents:
  • Depending on the app, you might need to print using the Share function. Check your app (such as photo, browser or email) to see if its share function has a print option. If so, tap the Share icon, and then tap the Print icon.
Why can't I print to email?
  • There might be an email configuration problem. Make sure POP3 and IMAP are enabled.
    1. Login to your Gmail account.
    2. At the top of the page, open Settings, and then select Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
    3. Select Enable IMAP and the Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on check boxes.
    4. Select Save Changes.
  • There might be an app configuration problem. Make sure POP3 settings are configured on the Samsung Mobile Print app. For example, to configure a Gmail account in the Samsung Mobile Print app, follow these steps:
    1. Open the Samsung Mobile Print app.
    2. Make sure the User Name and Password is correct.
    3. Make sure the Incoming Server settings are set to Server: pop.gmail.com and Port: 995.
    4. Make sure the Security settings are set to Connection: SSL/TLS and Authentication: Password.
Why can't I fax?
The printer is connected via a USB cable. Faxing is only supported via a network connection.

The printer is connected via a USB cable. Scanning is only supported via a network connection.
Why can't I print using a Wi-Fi connection?
  • Make sure the printer is configured to print on a network.
  • Make sure the phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
How do I print using a USB connection
Setup the printer and app to print via USB. For instructions, go to one of the following support documents:
How do I change the order of photos I want to print?
Currently, there is NO function to support to allow the order of photos to be changed for printing with the Samsung Mobile Print app. The order of the photos layout in the preview window depends on the order of photos you choose. To change the order, change the photo selection order.
How do I change the app language?
The App language is displayed according to the system language. To change the app language, change the mobile system language.
  1. Close the Samsung Mobile Print app.
  2. Open phone Settings.
  3. Under Language and input, change the language and save the setting.
  4. Open the Samsung Mobile Print app.
How do I add the printer using a SMB connection?
  1. Install the printer driver on the PC.
  2. Add and share the printer with the PC.
  3. Connect the printer to the PC using a USB cable.
  4. Open the Samsung Mobile Print app.
  5. Select the Add device manually option.
  6. Select SMB as the connection type, type the printer IP address, and then type the user account.
  7. Make sure the USB cable is connected and then select Search to find and add the printer.
The shared printer is now associated with the PC via USB.
How do I connect the printer with the app?
  1. Configure the connection.
    • For USB connections, connect the USB cable to the printer, install the printer driver, and then add/share the printer on the PC (this MUST be done before downloading the app).
    • For network connections, connect the network cable, make sure the printer is configured to print via a network connection (print server, shared network, or Wi-Fi), and then print a test page.
  2. Download the Samsung Mobile Print app for Android 4.0 or newer or the Samsung Mobile Print app for iOS 7.0 or newer.
  3. Add the printer to the printer list.
    USB connections
    1. Open the Samsung Mobile Print app.
    2. Select the Add device manually option.
    3. Select SMB as the connection type, type the printer IP address, and then type the user account.
    4. Make sure the USB cable is connected and then tap Search to find and add the printer.
    5. Print a test page (Print > Document).
    Network connections
    1. If using a network connection, make sure the printer and the phone are connected to the same network (same router).
    2. Open the Samsung Mobile Print app.
    3. Tap Select Device, or to change an existing printer selection, tap the Add icon.
    4. Select RAW as the connection type, type the printer IP address, and then keep the default 9100 Port number selection.
    5. Tap Search to find and add the printer.
How can I use Mobile Print to print Word, Excel, PowerPoint and TXT documents?
Mobile Print does not support printing of MS Office document directly, please print the MS Office documents by using Samsung Print Service Plugin and Microsoft Office app.
Here are the steps for your reference
  • For Android:
    1. Install Samsung Print Service Plugin and Microsoft Office app on your Android device, you can download them from Google Play.
    2. Launch Microsoft Office app, and open the Word, Excel, PowerPoint or TXT document.
    3. Select “Print” from the 3-dots menu.
    4. Samsung Print Service Plugin app will be opened automatically, print the document using this app.
  • For iOS: (TXT file can be supported by Mobile Print on iOS)
    1. Install Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) on your iOS device.
    2. Launch Microsoft Office apps, and open the corresponding MS document (Word, Excel or PowerPoint)
    3. Select “Print” from the 3-dots menu.
    4. Select “Open in Another App”.
    5. Select “Copy to Mobile Print”.
    6. Tap “Print” button to print the document.
How can I use Mobile Print to print HWP file?
Printing for HWP file is NOT supported any more by Mobile Print on both Android and iOS.
How can I use Mobile Print to send fax for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HWP and TXT documents?
  • For Android:
    Fax for TXT, HWP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint documents are NOT supported any more by Mobile Print.
  • For iOS:
    • Fax for Word, Excel, PowerPoint documents can be supported through the MS Office apps only.
      Here are the steps for your reference
      1. Install Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) on your iOS device.
      2. Launch Mobile Print app, and switch to Fax tab.
      3. Launch Microsoft Office apps, and open the corresponding MS document (Word, Excel or PowerPoint)
      4. Select “Print” from the 3-dots menu.
      5. Select “Open in Another App”.
      6. Select “Copy to Mobile Print”.
      7. Tap “Fax” button to send fax for this document.
    • Fax for HWP file is NOT supported any more by Mobile Print.
