When attempting to use the card reader with a particular memory card a Card access error is displayed on the printer.

For memory cards under 2 GB that have been formatted by a computer
Use the camera to format the memory card.
Memory cards with a capacity greater than 2 GB
Memory cards with a capacity greater than 2 GB are not currently supported. Either of the workarounds below should work.

Download the images from the camera to a computer.

Print directly to the printer using the Direct Print (EXIF) or PictBridge ports on the printer.
Causes
Formatting a memory card in Windows XP will cause it to be formatted to FAT 32 which is unreadable by Photosmart printers.
Memory cards larger than 2 GB are not supported with Photosmart printers.
