HP LaserJet M1522/M2727/HP Color LaserJet CM1312/CM2320 Multifunction Printers - Error: "HP LaserJet service stopped"

Issue

When installing full software on Windows 7 32-bit/64-bit operating system, user may get error HP LaserJet service stopped (see the Figure below).
If user manually tries to start "HP LaserJet service" in services.msc, the system will prompt with error 2: system cannot find the file path (see the Figure below).

Solution

Below steps will help to resolve the issue:
  1. Cancel the software installation.
  2. Uninstaller the full HP software (if any) from Programs and Features and make sure there is no other HP Printer software or UPD drivers installed. Check in Devices and Printers.
  3. Remove "HP" folder from C:\Program Files.
  4. Clear "temp" files. (use C:\DOCUME~1\RGates\LOCALS~1\Temp command in Run and delete all files inside temp folder).
  5. Clear the Recycle Bin.
  6. Restart the PC.
  7. Access Services.msc and make sure HP LaserJet Servicesis running.
  8. If not, try to start the service manually. (Check C drive - the HP software should have been extracted to the root directory. Open Setup folder > hpplaserjetservice and right click on hpplaserjetservice.msi and select Install. Now, Access Services.msc and right-click and select properties and select Start. Verify again, HP LaserJet services should be running now (see the Figure below).
  9. Now begin the full software installation.

    This document and instructions are applicable only for HP LaserJet M1522, M2727 and HP Color LaserJet CM1312 and CM2320 MFP Series which has fax module.
