Service Pack 6 for EFI Designer Edition RIP for HP is now available to download from the Online Updater feature. The Online Updater can be found with the desktop icons in the lower right of the screen (next to the windows clock).

Make sure you delete the subfolder for this printer model from your computer hard disk before you install the SP4. The path to this folder is in the following:-

Mac: Harddisk\Applications\EFI Designer Edition\Profiles\Paper\HP\HP Photosmart B9180.

The profile connector can now recognize and prevent RGB profiles being used.
Issues solved in Service Pack 6
Media mismatch issues for HP Designjet Z3100
Environment: All OS
Description: When using a custom profile, and when having selected the correct media in the front panel and in the RIP window, the application did not print and displayed incorrectly that there was a paper mismatch.
Not able to print from application on Windows Vista
Environment: Windows Vista
Description: The ‘Virtual printer’ was not automatically created during the installation process on Windows vista, therefore there was no option to select to print to the RIP from any application.
Error “Input: system overloaded. Please restart”
Environment: Mac OS X.4 MacTel.
Description: When attempting to print pdf files, the above error message was displayed while the RIP tried to process the job.
PS images not previewed but print correctly
Environment: Mac OS X.4 MacTel.
Description: When printing PS files, some objects were not shown correctly, i.e. on a different page of the job.
Media loaded in printer preferences not automatically set in RIP
Environment: All OS
Description: The media preferences in the RIP were not automatically refreshed when media loaded in printer was changed (front panel).
Not able to connect to a HP Designjet 500 through USB
Environment: Mac OS
Description: The Printer was not detected using the USB connection.
Printer model not automatically selected for HP Designjet 500 on USB
Environment: All
Description: The Printer model was not automatically selected in RIP when connected through the USB connection. Printer was required to be selected manually from the printer list.
Not able to calibrate paper from a Photosmart B9180
Environment: Mac & USB connection
Description: Calibration for B9180 through USB did not work correctly.
Product Limitations
Specific File formats not supported
ZIP-compressed L*a*b*/Tif Files or Tif files that contain a spot color are still not supported.
Windows Vista permissions
Running Designer Edition on Windows Vista requires the customer to have write permission of the EFI Designer Edition folders.
Photosmart B9180 limitations

It is highly recommended to use only the media tray as media source when printing on "HP Proofing Matte Paper" for HP Photosmart B9180.

If EFI Designer Edition and the HP printer utility for the Photosmart 9180 are both installed on the same computer, two USB printers (DOT4_001 and USB_001) are available in EFI Designer Edition. DOT4_001 cannot be used with EFI Designer Edition. Therefore, please make sure that USB_001 is selected.
