Set up an HP account or HP Smart account to manage product features and access support benefits.
With an HP account, you can access your HP product information from My Dashboard or the HP Smart app:
HP Customer Support My Dashboard: Add all your HP products to access product information and status, support options, warranty information, and more.
HP Smart app account (HP printers): Check printer status, add and remove remote printing users, access additional printing and scanning features (supported models only), and use troubleshooting tools to fix network connections.
Create a personalized dashboard of your HP products to access product-specific customer support options, warranty status, software and drivers, and troubleshooting tools.
Go to HP Account benefits, and then click Create a personal account.
If you created an HP account in the past, you do not need to create a new one. Click Sign In and enter the email and password for the account.
Enter your name, email address, and a password to use to access the account, and then click Create.
Go to your email account, open the email sent from HP, and then click Verify. You can also copy the verification code provided and paste it into the Enter six-digit verification code field on the HP Customer Support page.
Return to HP Customer Support, enter your phone number and country/region, and then click Continue to complete the account setup.
If the HP Customer Support home page opens, click your name in the top-right corner and select Support Dashboard.
Click Add your first device on the Welcome to your Dashboard screen.
Select a method to add your printer and other HP products to your dashboard.
Click Let HP detect your product to add connected products automatically. If prompted, download and install HP Support Solutions software to enable the tool.
Manually enter the product serial number.
View information for your product from the My Devices list. If you added multiple products, click the product name from the list.
Use the HP Smart app to connect your printer to your computer or mobile device, and then set up your HP account.
Download the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com (Android, Apple iOS), HP Smart - Microsoft Store (Windows, in English), or HP Smart - Mac App Store (macOS, in English).

On the app Welcome screen, click Accept All, or click Manage Options to change preferences.
Set up or add the printer.
If the option to set up or sign in displays, click Set Up a New Printer.
If the app home screen displays, click Add Printer or the Add printer icon ( or ).

After completing the printer setup, click the Account icon in the top-left corner of the home screen.
Click Create account.
If you created an HP account in the past, you do not need to create a new one. Click Sign In and enter the email and password for the account.

Click the Account icon, click Manage HP Account, and then click Accept in the privacy prompt to view and manage the account dashboard.
Access your account from a web browser by going to HP Smart. Click Sign In, and then enter the same login information you used to create the account in the HP Smart app.

Cannot sign in to or create an HP Smart account: The HP Smart app does not open, or the setup becomes stuck on a loading page or spinner when attempting to sign in or create an account.

Remove a printer from your HP account.
Go to the HP Smart website and click Sign In, and then enter your account email and password.
Select your printer on the Printers tab, if it is not already selected.
Select Printer Options or Manage Printer Settings, then Remove Printer.
