HP LaserJet Enterprise Flow MFP M830 and HP LaserJet Enterprise Flow MFP M880 - Replace the background selector

This document provides the procedures to remove and replace the background selector for the HP LaserJet Enterprise Flow MFP M830 and HP Color LaserJet Enterprise Flow MFP M880.

Before you begin

• Use the table below to identify the correct kit part number for your product, and then go to www.hp.com/buy/parts to order the kit.

Required tools

• No special tools are required to install this kit.

  caution:

Do not touch the surface of the replacement roller. Skin oils deposited on the roller might cause print quality problems.

1. Open the document-feeder door.

2. Lift up the input tray.

3. Push in on two blue tabs to release them.
   Figure : Release two tabs
   
4. Slide the background selector away from the product to remove it.
   Figure : Remove the background selector
   

Unpack the replacement background selector from the packaging.

note:

HP recommends responsible disposal of the defective background selector.

1. Slide the background selector into the document feeder.
   Figure : Install the background selector
   
2. Push in on it until the blue tabs snap into place.

   note:

   If paper jams occur after the assembly is installed, make sure that the assembly is fully seated.

3. Lower up the input tray.

4. Close the document-feeder door.
   Figure : Close the document-feeder door
