Paper Skew - HP DesignJet T200/T600 Printer Series and Studio

There are various reasons why you may have issues loading the paper.

Paper cannot be loaded successfully

There are various reasons why you may have issues loading the paper.

Ensure that no paper is already loaded.
Ensure that the paper is far enough inside the printer, you should feel the printer grab the paper.
Do not attempt to straighten the paper during the aligning process, unless instructed to do so by the front-panel display. The printer automatically attempts to straighten the paper.
The paper may be crumpled, or warped, or may have irregular edges.

Paper loading error messages

There is a list of front-panel messages related to paper loading, with the suggested corrective action.

Error Messages
Front-panel message	Suggested action
Paper loaded with too much skew	During the paper load process the printer detected that the paper had too much skew. Tap OK to unload the roll automatically, then restart the process.
Paper not detected	During the paper load process the printer did not detect any paper. Ensure the paper is inserted fully and is not transparent.
Paper too far from lateral edge	Reload the cut sheet, aligning the right edge against the black stop on the spindle.
Paper load failed. Paper width is smaller than the minimum size supported by the selected paper source.	Cut sheets smaller than ISO A3 must be loaded using the multi-sheet tray.
Sheet too big	During the load process the printer has detected that the sheet of paper is either too wide or too long to be loaded correctly. Tap to stop the load process. See Functional specifications.
Sheet too small	During the load process the printer detected that the sheet of paper is too narrow or too short to be loaded in the printer. Tap to stop the load process. See Functional specifications.

Text messages and numerical error codes

Error messages indicate that there is a printer error that needs attention. When they appear, follow the advice in the Recommendation column.

If you see an error message that does not appear here, and you feel in doubt about the correct response, or if the recommended action does not seem to solve the problem, contact HP Support. See Contact HP Support.

Text messages
Message	Recommendation
Cartridge low	The indicated cartridges are low. You do not have to replace the cartridge(s) now. HP recommends you have a replacement available for when the cartridge is depleted and will need to be replaced.
Cartridge very low	The indicated cartridges are very low and will be depleted soon. While you do not have to replace the cartridges now, HP recommends you have a replacement available for when cartridges are depleted and will need to be replaced.
Cartridges depleted	The indicated cartridges are depleted. Replace these cartridges.
Maintenance kit 1 required	Contact HP Support. See Contact HP Support.
Maintenance kit 2 required	Contact HP Support. See Contact HP Support.
Maintenance kit 3 required	Contact HP Support. See Contact HP Support.
Cartridge Problem	Insert cartridges of the correct color as needed. See GUID-1DF7C0CE-092D-444C-841A-1C83E4A1C314.html#GUID-1DF7C0CE-092D-444C-841A-1C83E4A1C314.
Carriage jam	See Roll has jammed or Multi-sheet tray has jammed.
The width of the paper is smaller than the minimum size supported by the selected media source. Loading cancelled.	Remove the paper and load paper of the correct size.
Loaded paper is too wide. Manual unload required.	Remove the paper manually and load paper of the correct size.
The paper is too far from the lateral load line. Try loading the paper again.	Remove and reload the paper.
Please manually unload roll paper and try again.	Rewind the roll manually.
The currently loaded paper has too much skew and cannot be corrected automatically. Tap Remove, and then load the paper again.	Remove and reload the paper.
The roll is out of paper, and the current job has been cancelled. Load another roll, and then send the job again.	Load a new roll.
You are printing a multipage job. Load another sheet to continue printing or cancel the job.	Load another single sheet.
Multi-sheet tray is out of paper. Load paper in multi-sheet tray and press OK to continue printing or cancel the job.	Load paper into the multi-sheet tray.
End of roll has been reached. It is not possible to load the roll.	Load a new roll.
Missing or failed printhead.	Remove and reinsert the same printhead, or try cleaning the electrical connections. If necessary, insert a new printhead. See Replace the printhead. Note: The error message does not permit returning to the home screen to start the printhead replacement. Instead, press Show more.
Refilled or depleted cartridge detected	Check the cartridge.
Used cartridges might not have enough ink to complete start-up. Open ink door to replace the cartridges.	A new printhead has been inserted without a new set of ink cartridges. Replace the cartridges not marked as new. See Replace an ink cartridge.
Wrong file format.	The file format is incorrect or not supported. The printer cannot process the job, which will be discarded.

Numerical error codes
Error code	Recommendation
0001-0082	The battery of the real-time clock has expired; contact HP Support. See Contact HP Support.
0021-0017	Service station error. There may be a paper or carriage jam. Check and clear the paper path if necessary and restart the printer.
0041-0017, 0042-0117	There may be a paper or carriage jam. Check and clear the paper path if necessary.
0085-XXXX	Feeding paper problem. Restart the printer.
