HP Designjet 30, 130 and 90 Printer Series - Windows Printer Driver Install/Uninstall

Windows driver installation

The procedure for installing the Windows driver depends whether the printer is connected directly to a computer or via the network. Follow the appropriate instructions below (direct connect or network) to install the driver correctly.

Direct connect installation

  1. Without connecting your computer to the printer, insert the Printers Software Setup for Windows CD into your drive. If the CD does not autorun, run the SETUP.EXE program in the root directory of the CD.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions. Note the following:
    • When asked how the printer is connected, choose Connected directly to this computer.
    • When asked what type of installation, choose Typical. A Typical installation meets the needs of most users.
  3. When the printer installation is finished, installation of HP Designjet System Maintenance starts automatically. Click Next to complete this installation.

Windows network connect installation

  1. Connect the printer to the network.
  2. Wait at least 3 minutes to allow the printer time to search the network.
  3. After 3 minute wait, print the information pages of the printer (hold down the Power key and press the OK key four times).
  4. Look at the TCP/IP section of the first page and see whether the printer has an assigned IP address.
    • If no IP address is shown or if a default address of 0.0.0.0 or 192.0.0.192 is shown, there is no assigned IP address. Note the hardware address.
    • If an IP address is assigned, make a note of it.
You will need the information you note here later on.
  5. Insert the Printers Software Setup for Windows CD into your computer. If the CD does not autorun, run the SETUP.EXE program in the root directory of the CD.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the printer. Note the following:
    • When asked how the printer is connected, choose Connected via the network.
    • When asked what Network Setup you require, choose Basic network setup.
    • When asked how the printer will be identified, choose Search from a list of detected printers, and select the printer from the list. If you have more than one HP Designjet printer, use the IP address or hardware address to check that the correct printer has been selected.
    • When asked which Network Configuration Option you want, choose Configure Network Settings for me.
    • When asked what type of installation, choose Typical. A Typical installation meets the needs of most users.
  7. Click Next until you have completed the installation of the printer and HP Designjet System Maintenance.
