Description

Computers are experiencing lower than expected performance. This issue occurs most often on simple Windows tasks such as opening File Explorer, opening web browsers, and using Task Manager. This issue can occur less frequently during the use of 3rd Party Applications.

Resolution

To work around this issue, change the Windows power plan.

Follow the steps below to change the power plan:

  1. Press Windows key on keyboard and type in Control Panel.

  2. Select Control Panel.

  3. Select System and Security.

  4. Select Power Options.

  5. Under Choose or customize a power plan select Additional Plans.

  6. HP suggests selecting Ultimate Performance selection.

Note: Intel suggests changing the power plan to High Performance and HP suggests changing to Ultimate Performance for best results, however either can be used.
Note: When selecting Ultimate Performance plan, by default it will disable the system from entering into Sleep Mode. If sleep mode is required, edit Sleep to be enabled by going into Change plan settings.
