HP OfficeJet Pro 9010, 9020 printers - Control panel features

The control panel includes buttons, icons, lights, and a touchscreen to select print options and indicate printer status.

Control panel buttons, icons, and lights

From the control panel display, access the Home button, verify wireless connectivity, and access Help menus.

Wireless light: The light indicates connection status.

  • Solid blue light: Connected to a wireless network, and you can print.

  • Slow blinking light with clear pause: Wireless is on and configured, but the printer is not connected.

  • Slow blinking light: Wireless is on, but the printer is not connected to a network.

  • Fast blinking light: Wireless connection issue.

  • No light: Wireless is turned off and the Wireless Summary screen displays Wireless Off.

Back button: Returns to the previous menu.

Home button: Returns to the Home screen.

Help button: Opens the Help menu when on the Home screen or displays contextual help on other screens.

Control panel display menu

Touch the control panel to select print, fax, copy, and scan options from the main menu. Swipe your finger across the display to scroll through the icons or down the display to open the Dashboard.

Setup icon: Open the Setup screen to change network, Wi-Fi direct, and fax settings, access maintenance tools, and print reports.

/ Wireless/Ethernet icon: The Wireless icon opens the Wireless Summary menu to check wireless status and change wireless settings. You can print a Wireless Test Report to diagnose network connection issues. If there is no network connection, the Wireless icon displays by default.

HP ePrint icon (except HP OfficeJet 9012e, Pro 9010e series models): Opens the Web Services Summary menu to check ePrint status details, change ePrint settings, or print a Web Services Information Page.

Wi-Fi Direct icon: Opens the Wi-Fi Direct menu to turn HP Wi-Fi Direct printing on or off and displays the Wi-Fi Direct name and password.

Ink icon: Displays estimated ink levels by cartridge. The icon displays a warning symbol when the ink level is less than the minimum requirement.

Fax status icon: Displays status information for the Auto Answer function, fax logs, and the fax sounds volume.

Eco icon: Opens the Eco menu to configure environmental features.

Shortcuts button: Provides access to the frequently used tasks. Use the HP Smart app to create and save the list.

Copy icon: Opens the Copy menu to copy a document, photo, or ID card.

Scan icon: Opens the Scan menu to scan a computer or change scan settings.

Photo icon: Opens the Photo menu to print a photo or manage print jobs.

Fax icon: Opens the Fax menu to set up faxing, send a fax, or reprint a received fax.

Apps icon (Not supported by HP+ printers): Provides access to apps for the printer.
