HP Business PCs - HP Wolf Security error: HP Sure Click is unable to support Hyper-V on this computer

When you start HP Wolf Security, an error message on the Threat Containment tile displays that HP Sure Click is not able to support Microsoft Hypervisor (Hyper-V) on your computer. You can resolve this conflict to use HP Sure Click.

Note:

This issue applies only to devices with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2019 LTSC and HP Wolf Security installed. All versions of HP Sure Click are affected. This issue is not expected to occur with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2021 LTSC, as that Windows version includes support for the Windows Hypervisor Platform.

Hyper-V and HP Sure Click conflict error

When you enable virtualization-based security (VBS) such as HP Wolf Security, Hyper-V is installed. HP Sure Click also installs a hypervisor.

Because the HP Sure Click hypervisor conflicts with Hyper-V, the HP Wolf Security Status tab displays an error on the Threat Containment tile.

HP Wolf Security Threat Containment error for Hyper-V

Windows includes VBS features like Hypervisor Code Integrity (HVCI) and Windows Defender Application guard. If any of these features are enabled on a computer running the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2019 LTSC operating system with HP Wolf Security installed, the Threat Containment feature (included as part of HP Sure Click) does not work. Without application isolation, your computer is vulnerable to malicious email attachments and websites.

Disable visualization-based security (VBS) features to use HP Sure Click

If you want to take advantage of all available security features of HP Wolf Security and HP Sure Click, disable all VBS features of the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2019 LTSC operating system.
