HP printer compatibility with macOS and OS X

Depending on your printer model, HP and Apple support sites offer software or other options for printing with your HP printer and a Mac.

1. On your Mac, go to 123.hp.com.

2. Type your printer model in the search box, and then review the drop-down list.

   • If your printer is listed, an HP driver or app is available. Select your printer, click Next, and then follow the instructions to download and install software.

     

   • If your printer is not listed and the Next button is disabled, an HP driver is not available. Click My device is not listed or continue to the next step to find other options.

     

3. If printing software is not found from 123.hp.com, use an alternative method.

   • AirPrint: On macOS and OS X, most HP printers work with Apple AirPrint to provide full-quality printing without the need to download or install drivers.

   • HP Customer Support: Drivers and software for your printer might be available from HP Software and Driver Downloads.

   • Apple Support: Apple provides HP drivers that are compatible with your version of macOS or OS X. Go to Apple Support - HP Printer Drivers for macOS and OS X Mavericks and later (in English) or Apple Support - HP Printer Drivers for OS X Lion and Mountain Lion (in English) to search for available printer software.
