HP is enhancing the BIOS on the HP 2023 notebook PCs.

The new software and BIOS updates are available for download from the HP Software and Driver Downloads page after the effective date.

HP ZBook Fury 16-inch G10 Mobile Workstation PC, HP ZBook Studio 16-inch G10 Mobile Workstation PC, and HP Elite Dragonfly 13.5-inch G4 Notebook PC System BIOS have the following enhancements added:

  • Fixes an issue when the unit cannot charge under sleep/hibernate/shutdown state via the 15 W USB Type-C adapter.

  • Enhancement to address security vulnerabilities CVE-2023-39368, CVE-2023-38575, and CVE-2023-28746.

  • Distinct error messages for Fan 1 and Fan 2 based on their respective behaviors, providing more specific and actionable information in the event of a fan-related issue. This improvement could potentially streamline troubleshooting efforts and help address any fan-related concerns more effectively.

  • The loss of Clickpad functionality during sudden shutdown when the firmware is updating via FUR/INF.

  • Pop-up message to recommend using HP-branded batteries only when a non-HP branded battery is used in the system.

  • Enhancement to address security vulnerabilities CVE-2023-28389, CVE-2023-27502, and CVE-2023-32633.

  • Enhancement reserves 32 GB partition on the hard drive for Sure Recover Partition-Based Recovery use.

HP ZBook Studio 16-inch G10 Mobile Workstation PC System BIOS has the following enhancements added:

  • Update Reference Code Revision to 1.1.0.1a.

  • Distinct error messages for Fan 1 and Fan 2 based on their respective behaviors, providing more specific and actionable information in the event of a fan-related issue. This improvement could potentially streamline troubleshooting efforts and help address any fan-related concerns more effectively.

  • Pop-up message to recommend using HP-branded batteries only when a non-HP branded battery is used in the system.

  • Improvement to the CPU power during battery rapid charge state.

  • Enhancement to support Sparse Control Transaction Control.

  • Remove 256 MB item from Video Memory Size.

  • Enhancement reserves 32 GB partition on the hard drive for Sure Recover Partition-Based Recovery use.

  • Fixes an issue when the unit cannot charge under sleep/hibernate/shutdown state via the 15 W USB Type-C adapter.

  • Fixes an issue when the Type-C does not function with HP USB-C dock G5 intermittently.

  • Fixes an issue when the internal keyboard generates incorrect key than the key that is pressed.

  • Fixes an issue when the USB keyboard does not function at the BitLocker PIN screen when fast boot is enabled.

  • Fixes an issue when the Wi-Fi Password does not appear in Pre-boot Wi-FiProfile variable.

  • Fixes an issue when some options present in UefiBIOSConfig file is not present in the HpSetup.txt file.

  • Fixes an issue that implements the correct values setting in the DPTF table for 1040L.

  • Fixes an issue when the unit bricks after WU is updated and connects with the USB-C dock.

  • Enhancement to address security vulnerabilities CVE-2023-39368, CVE-2023-38575, and CVE-2023-28746.

  • Distinct error messages for Fan 1 and Fan 2 based on their respective behaviors, providing more specific and actionable information in the event of a fan-related issue.
