HP LaserJet MFP M232-M237 printers - Printing reports and self-test pages

This document is for HP LaserJet MFP M232dw, M232dwc, M233dw, M233sdn, M233sdw, M234dwe, M234dw, M234sdw, M234sdwe, M234sdn, M234sdne, M236d, M236dw, and M236sdw printers.

This document contains instructions for printing internal printer reports, such as, Configuration Report, Information Report, Wireless Network Test Report, and Adjust Alignment Test Page.

Print a Configuration Report

A Configuration Report contains information about the printer, such as, the serial number, paper and copy settings, and printer usage. Wi-Fi printer models also include information about the printer IP address and the network name (SSID).

Print a Configuration Report from the control panel.

Turn on the printer.
Press and hold the Information button for three seconds until all buttons are lit.
Press the Resume button .

A Configuration Report prints.

Print a Printer Information Report

Print a Printer Information Report to find information about your printer, toner cartridge, connection mode, Wi-Fi Direct name and password, and the current error status of your printer.

On the printer's control panel, press the Information button

A Printer Information Report prints.

Print a Wireless Network Test Report

Print a Wireless Network Test Report to find diagnostics results for the status of the Wi-Fi network, Wi-Fi signal strength, and detected networks.

Print a Wireless Network Test Report from the control panel.

Turn on the printer.
Press and hold the Information button for three seconds until all buttons are lit.
Press the Information button and the Resume button at the same time.

A Wireless Network Test Report prints.

Print an Adjust Alignment Test Page

Print an Adjust Alignment Test Page to center the print image on the page.

Open HP Smart and select your printer.
Click Advanced settings.

note:
For Windows 7 and 8, open HP Printer Assistant, select Print, and then click Printer Home Page (EWS).
Click System, and then click Service.
In the Adjust Alignment section, from the Tray 1 Size drop-down list, select the size, and then enter the values for X1 Shift, X2 Shift, and Y Shift.
Click Print Test Page.

An Adjust Alignment Test Page prints.
