HP Designjet T730 Printer & T830 MFP - Driver Guide

1. Raster driver:
   HPGL2 language driver that sends the job in bitmap format to the printer. Processing happens in the computer.

   • Full Installer Package: HP Designjet T730-T830 printer series Full Feature Solution Installer (.exe setup file).
   • Driver package (.inf file) for standalone installations: HP Designjet T730-T830 Raster Driver

2. HPGL2 driver:
   HPGL2 language driver that sends the job to printer in HPGL2 format (vectorial format). Processing happens in the printer.
   • Full installer package: HP Designjet T730-T830 printer series Full Feature Solution Installer (.exe setup file).
   • Driver package: HP Designjet T730-T830 HP-GL/2 Driver for standalone installations.

4. HP Designjet Universal Print Driver HP-GL/2 and HP RTL (HPGL2 language):

note:

HP Designjet T730-T830 Raster Driver” and “HP Designjet T730-T830 HP-GL/2 Driver” are the most complete drivers and include the maximum number of features (see the feature comparison table at the end of the document).

Refer the flowchart below to select the correct printer driver for Windows.

1. Driver packages (file extension is “.exe” or “.zip”)

   1. Running this .exe file will extract the driver to a folder on your computer. If the format is .zip, it will need to be extracted manually.
   2. It contains an .INF file for minimal installation (less than 4 MB in size). The INF file should only be used:

      1. By network administrators that conduct customize installations
      2. By advanced users performing a manual installation (using the “Add printer…->Have Disk…” wizard).
2. FULL installers (setup files, extension is “.exe”)

   1. These include a guided installation where the driver, color profiles and additional software (HP Printer Utility) can be installed.

      1. It contains the HP Designjet T730-T830 Raster Driver and the HP Designjet T730-T830 HP-GL/2 Driver.
      2. The user can select which features (e.g. HP Utility, etc.) and drivers will be installed.

1. Driver packages (file extension is “.dmg”)
   This file contains the driver exclusively

   1. Typically, the name will be Mac_OS_X_HP_DesignJet_Raster_Driver.dmg.
2. FULL installers (File extension is “.dmg”)

   1. a. Guided installations where the driver, color profiles and additional software(HP Printer Utility) can be installed. The user can select which features will be installed.
   2. Typically, the name will be Mac_OS_X_HP_DesignJet_Installer.dmg.
