HP Designjet 4500 MFP/820 MFP/T1100 MFP/T1120 HD/4520 HD MFP/T1200 HD MFP/HD Scanner Series Scanner - How to Find the MAC Address of the Touchscreen/Scanner

Issue:
Many government agencies need to know the MAC address of devices that are or will be on their Local Area Network. The Designjet 4500 scanner series does not have a simple means of displaying its MAC address.
Solution
First, the scanner needs to be setup on the Local Area Network and have a IP address already assigned (via static IP address or DHCP assigned IP address).
Next, perform the following steps to determine the scanner's MAC address:
  1. From a workstation that is on the same network as the scanner, open a command prompt (Click on Start -> Run and type cmd and press Enter).
  2. From the command prompt, type ping <IP Address of scanner> and press Enter.
    note:
This step MUST be performed. If the scanner is pinged successfully, continue with the remaining steps. If the ping is unsuccessful, troubleshoot the network.
  3. From the command prompt, type arp -a and press Enter.
  4. Scroll through the list and look for the scanner's IP address. The MAC address will be listed next to the scanner's IP address.
