HP Scanjet G4010 and G4050 Scanners - Setting Up the Scanner

Introduction

This document lists the steps to set up the scanner hardware.

Connect the transparent materials adapter (TMA) cable to the port at the back of the scanner.

Connect the power supply to the scanner, and then plug the power supply into a surge protector or grounded wall outlet.

Use the USB cable that came with the scanner to connect the scanner to the computer.

caution:
In a Windows environment, install the HP Photosmart software before connecting the scanner to the computer with the USB cable. In a Macintosh environment, connect the USB cable either before or after installing the software.
1. Connect the square end of the cable to the scanner.

2. Connect the rectangular end of the cable to the computer.
Turn the power switch on.
