HP Designjet PostScript Printers - Error Processing Flushing Rest of Job is Displayed on Front Panel when Printing Large Images Through the PostScript Driver

Issue:
The following error message occurs on the printers front panel when trying to print large images through the PostScript driver with Photoshop CS: Error Processing - Flushing rest of job.
Solution
Select ASCII. To find this option in Photoshop, use the File pull-down menu.
  1. Select Print with Preview.
  2. Below the Preview window, ensure the Show More Options is selected with a checkmark to the left of this option.
When this option is selected, there will be an option box below it with the option of Output or Color Management. With Output selected, there will be another option available titled, Encoding. The selection in the box normally defaults to ASCII85 and should be changed to ASCII.
Other settings that can cause this same behavior include:
  • Output Protocol setting in the Windows driver, Properties/Device Settings menu. This setting should also be set to ASCII.
  • Some Designjet printers have a front panel setting for PS Encoding. In most cases, this should be set to Software (Consult your users guide for this feature)
Cause
This problem can occur when printing to any postscript printer with Photoshop CS. Previous versions of Photoshop default to ASCII encoding in the print dialogue menu. Photoshop CS defaults to a new standard of ASCII (ASCII85). This setting may work fine for some customer environments and not others.
