HP PageWide Pro 750, MFP 772, MFP 777, Managed P75050-P75060, MFP P77740-P77760 - Set up contacts on the printer using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

1. Obtain the IP address of the printer.
   1. Touch the strip at the top of the home screen on the printer control panel to view the dashboard icons.
   2. Touch the network icon to view the IP address or host name of the printer.
2. Open a Web browser, and in the address line, type the IP address or host name of the printer exactly as it displays on the printer control panel. Press the Enter key on the computer keyboard. The EWS opens.

   note:

   If the Web browser displays a message indicating that it might not be safe to access the website, select the option to continue. Accessing this website will not harm the computer.

1. Using the top navigation tabs in the HP EWS, click Scan.
2. In the left navigation pane, expand Address Book, and then click Address Book Settings.
   If you receive a message about "Redirecting to Secure Page", click the OK button.
3. In the Manage Address Books section, click the New address book icon.

4. In the Add Address Book, type a name for the address book in Display Name.

   note:

   The Access Code information is optional. If entered, make sure to type the code again in the Confirm Access Code text box.

5. Click the Apply button to save the changes.

note:

The printer must have the correct firmware version to be compatible with the LDAP feature to set up network contacts and to configure the SMTP server.

1. In the left navigation pane, expand Address Book, and then click Address Book Settings.
2. In the Network Contacts Setup section, select one of the following search options:
   • Quick Search
   • Detailed Search
3. Select the Enable Network Contacts (use LDAP server) check box, and then click the Setup link.
4. Complete the required information in the Network Directory Server (LDAP) section.
   • LDAP Server Address: Type the IP address of the LDAP server.
     If the LDAP Server to use is unknown, click Auto Find to obtain a list of server names.

     note:

     If the LDAP server you want to use is not in this list, contact your administrator and obtain the IP address and the attribute codes.

   • Port: The standard LDAP port is "389".
     Use port 3768 when communicating with a Windows global catalog Active Directory server.
   • Select the Use a secure connection (SSL) check box to enable a secure connection.
5. Select the appropriate authentication type for the LDAP server in the Server Authentication Requirements section.

   note:

   If the server requires authentication, make sure to use the exact names that match the settings for the LDAP server.

6. In the LDAP Database Search Settings section, complete the required information to enable the printer to search for users on the LDAP server.
   • Path to start search (BaseDN, Search Root): Type the path to start searching the database. LDAP syntax requires to include the following parameters: CN=Users,DC=domain_name,DC=com
     Click Auto Find to browse for the point to begin searching the database.
   • Match the Recipient's Name with this attribute: Type the relevant LDAP name (cn) attribute (e.g. cn or samAccountName).
   • Match the Recipient's Email address with this attribute: Type the relevant LDAP "mail" attribute for the printer to query for the e-mail addresses.

     note:

     A users' login information will be compared to this attribute.

7. In the Advanced LDAP Search Options section, complete the required information for advanced LDAP search.
   • Maximum Addresses: Select the maximum number of addresses to display on the printer.
   • Maximum Search Time (seconds): Set the LDAP server time to use in seconds.
   • LDAP Filter Condition: Type attributes to be specified when performing the LDAP search.
8. In the Test for LDAP Retrieval section, test the LDAP retrieval by entering part of an attribute value, such as part of the recipient's name, and then click Save and Test.
9. Click the Apply button to save the changes.

1. In the left navigation pane, click Contacts.
2. In the Select Address Book drop-down list, select an address book.
3. Click the New contact icon.

4. In the Add Contact section, type the required information.
   • Display Name: (required) Type a contact name.
   • Last Name (optional)
   • First Name (optional)
   • Email Address
   • Fax Number
   • Description (optional)

   note:

   An e-mail address, fax number, or network folder must be entered for a contact.

5. To scan files from the network folder, click the Network Folder check box, and then type a path in the UNC Folder Path using the following format: \\myPC\shared folder.

   note:

   UNC names often consist of a PC name, a shared drive or folder and an optional file path. These elements are combined using backslashes.

6. Select an option for Authentication Settings.

   • Use credentials to connect after Sign in at the control panel.
   • Always use these credentials: When selecting this check box, type the correct Windows domain, username, and password.
     Click Verify Access to check whether you have configured access to the folder correctly. You will be prompted for the username and password for the folder.
7. Click the Apply button to save the changes.

1. In the left navigation pane, click Contacts.
2. In the Select Address Book drop-down list, select an address book.
3. Click the New Group contact icon.
4. In the Add Group section, type the required information.
   • Group Name (required)
   • Description (optional)
5. In the Add Member to a Group section, use one of the following methods to add contacts to a group.
   • Type a name or email address in the Filter text field, and then click Filter.
     or
   • Select a name in the Test address list box, and then double-click the right arrows to add them to a group.
6. Click the Apply button to save the changes.
