Intermediate transfer belt and secondary transfer roller replacement

  1. Turn the product off, and then open the right door.
  2. The transfer access panel falls halfway down. Push down on the blue lever to lower the transfer access panel completely.
  3. Grasp the two blue tabs and pull until the blue handles on the ITB are accessible.
  4. Grasp the blue handles, and then pull the ITB slightly.
  5. Pull the ITB all the way out to remove it.
  6. Follow the disposal instructions provided with the documentation
  7. Remove the new ITB from its package.
      caution:
    Do not touch the black-plastic belt. Skin oils and fingerprints on the belt can cause print quality problems. Always place the ITB on a flat surface in a safe and protected location.
  8. Insert the replacement ITB beneath the fuser.
  9. Gently push the ITB until it latches into place.
  10. Locate the secondary transfer roller.
  11. Grasp the blue plastic at the left end and the white plastic at the right end of the roller, and then lift up to remove the roller.
  12. Discard the old roller according to the instructions provided with the documentation.
  13. Remove the new roller from its package, careful not to touch the actual roller with your hand.
  14. Place the blue side in first with the pin facing down. Rotate the white plastic end until its pin faces down, and then press until it clicks into place.
  15. Remove the protective cover from the roller, careful not to touch the actual roller with your hand.
  16. Close the transfer access panel.
  17. Turn the product on.
