OPIS

The computer powers off unexpectedly.

The computer may shut down unexpectedly after connecting AC power and pressing the power button too soon (the charge LED turns orange as the battery starts exiting ship mode). Once this occurs, the computer is not be able to power on (without taking extra steps). The issue occurs when the computer is in Ship Mode.

All Commercial notebooks and tablets with BIOS specific BIOS versions (See Scope) released January 2020 through February 2020 are impacted.

ROZDZIELCZOŚĆ

To recover from the no power issue:

Perform the following steps:

If a docking station is in use, disconnect it from the computer.
Connect AC power directly to the computer.
Power on the computer by pressing the power button. If the computer does NOT power on when pressing the power button, proceed to the next step.
Perform power button override function by pressing and holding the power button more than 12 seconds to force a system G3 (power off) reset, then release the power button.
After releasing the power button, wait for the charge LED to turn on, then press the power button again. If the computer does NOT power on when pressing the power button, proceed to the next step.
Connect the AC power adapter directly to the computer and charge the battery for 15 to 30 minutes.
Power on the computer with the power button.

To prevent this issue from reoccurring in the future, update the BIOS:
