HP LaserJet E60055-E60075, E60155-E60175 - Replace the toner cartridge

This printer indicates when the toner cartridge level is low. The actual toner cartridge life remaining can vary. The toner cartridge does not need to be replaced at this time. Consider having a replacement cartridge available to install when print quality is no longer acceptable.

High-yield toner cartridges contain more toner than standard cartridges for increased page yield. For more information, go to www.hp.com/go/learnaboutsupplies.

Do not remove the new toner cartridge from its package until you are ready to use it.

  caution:

To prevent damage to the toner cartridge, do not expose it to light for more than a few minutes. Cover the green imaging drum if the toner cartridge must be removed from the printer for an extended period of time.

The following illustration shows the toner-cartridge components.

  caution:

If toner gets on clothing, wipe it off by using a dry cloth and wash the clothes in cold water. Hot water sets toner into fabric.

Information about recycling used toner cartridges is on the toner cartridge box.

When the cartridge reaches very low status, a message appears on the control panel.

note:

On the E60155, E60165, and E60175 models, the front door unlocks to allow access to the cartridge.

The printer models depicted in this video might differ from your printer model, but the steps are the same.

1. Press the cartridge door release button to open the door.

2. Pull out the cartridge drawer.

3. Grasp the handle or indentation on the used toner cartridge and pull up to remove it.

4. Remove the new toner cartridge from its protective bag.

5. Hold both ends of the toner cartridge and rock it 5-6 times.

6. Remove the shipping cover.

7. Place the toner cartridge in the cartridge drawer.

8. Close the toner cartridge drawer.

9. Close the cartridge door.

10. Pack the used toner cartridge into the box that the new cartridge came in. Adhere the prepaid shipping label to the box, and return the used cartridge to HP for recycling.
