HP Scanjet Photo Scanner Series - Uninstalling HP Software Completely Using Windows CleanUp Utility in Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista

Sometimes, using the Add/Remove Programs option does not completely uninstall the HP Scanner Software. If this occurs, the Microsoft Windows CleanUp Utility can be used to remove the remaining software.

If the scanner software is not completely uninstalled when using the Add/Remove Programs options, complete the following steps to remove the HP Scanner Software using the Windows CleanUp Utility:

1. Download and install the Windows CleanUp Utility, which is available on the Microsoft Download web page. Click here to download the Windows CleanUp Utility (http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe).
2. Open the Windows CleanUp Utility by completing the following steps:
   1. Click Start.
   2. Click All programs.
   3. Click Windows CleanUp Utility.
3. If you find any of the following scanner software listed in the Windows CleanUp Utility, remove it:
   • DocprocQ folder
   • Docproc
   • Solution Center
   • Scan
   • Scanner copy
   • HP Update
   • OCR software
   • EsupportQ folder
   • HP Product Assistant
   • HP Photosmart Essential
   • Destination component
   • Device managementQ folder
   • HP OCR Software
   • HP CIO component installer
4. Reboot the PC.

note:

Unless the PC is rebooted, the software will still be present on the PC.
