A patch was released on March 10, 2021 that will automatically update HP Support Assistant clients during the weekly scan where it checks for updates. This patch is applied to any version of HP Support Assistant version 8.
To manually update HP Support Assistant to the latest version, use the following steps:
Open HP Support Assistant from the Start menu.
Click the My devices tab.
Select Check for updates and messages.
During this process, the impacted files are replaced and the old files are deleted. To confirm that the patched file is present, check the version of this file (%programfiles(x86)%\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework\UninstallHPSA.exe). It should be version 8.11.1.0.
Identify the affected products.
Version 8.8.34.31 and lower of HP Support Assistant.
