HP printers - Managing the printer internet connection (Web Services)
Activate and use web-based printing services with the Web Services feature on HP printers.
Web Services enables an internet connection between the printer and HP services such as:

HP Instant Ink: HP Original Ink cartridge replacement service. The printer sends ink level information to HP. When ink is low, replacement cartridges are automatically shipped to you.

Print Anywhere: Remotely send print jobs and check the status of your printer using the HP Smart app (supported printers released in 2020 and later).

HP ePrint: Send print jobs from anywhere using your email account (supported printers released before 2020).
The printer must be connected to a network router with an active internet connection, either over Wi-Fi or with an Ethernet cable. A USB-only connection disables the printer internet connection.
Web Services is automatically enabled if you click Accept All on the Connected printing services step during software setup, or when you enroll in or set up an HP web-based service.
Checking the Web Services internet connection
Use the HP Smart app or the printer homepage to manage the connection and turn it on if necessary.

If you are prompted to log in or enter the printer PIN, enter admin for the username (HP LaserJets only), enter the PIN from the printer label, and then click Submit or OK. This label is typically located inside the cartridge access area or printer door.

Check the information on the Web Services tab.

If a summary screen displays, Web Services is enabled.

If a setup screen displays, click Continue or Enable, and then follow the instructions to turn on Web Services.

Restarting Web Services to clear errors or get a claim code
Restart or reset Web Services to clear connection issues and to print a page with the printer claim code.

If a summary page displays, Web Services is enabled. Click Remove Web Services or Reset Web Services in the left menu, and then click Remove Web Services or Reset in the center pane. Follow the instructions to turn off Web Services, and then continue to the next step.

If the Web Services Setup screen displays, click Continue or Enable, and then follow the instructions to turn on Web Services.
Note:If a Start Pairing message displays, your printer uses a different process to enable Web Services and pair the printer to your HP account. Depending on your printer model, go to the setup document for LaserJet Pro 3001-3008 (standard), 3001e-3008e (HP+) or MFP 3101-3108 (standard), 3101e-3108e (HP+) printers.

Confirming a printer supports Web Services
Make sure your printer supports web-based services such as HP Instant Ink, ePrint, and Print Anywhere.

On the printer control panel, look for an ePrint
or Web Services icon
. For printers with a touchscreen, touch Setup (

), and then look for a Web Services menu.
If the icon or menu is missing, go to Mobile printing solutions to check if your printer supports HP ePrint or Print Anywhere, indicating it supports Web Services.
