HP PCs - Using myHP

Use myHP to configure settings for your computer such as audio, video, privacy alerts, and other options.

The options available in myHP vary depending on your system configuration, including attached peripherals. For detailed information about any option in myHP, hover your pointer over the information icon .

Download myHP

You can download and install myHP from the Microsoft website.

  1. Go to myHP (in English).

  2. Click Install.

  3. Click Get.

  4. Click Open to open the installed app.

Sign in to myHP

If your computer is connected to the internet, you are prompted to sign in to my HP when you start the app.

  1. In Windows, search for and open myHP.

  2. Enter your user name, and then click Next.

    Note:

    If the computer is not connected to the internet, the Sign in screen is not displayed.

    Note:

    If you would like to sign in by having a verification number sent to your mobile phone, click Use mobile number instead.

    Note:

    If you have forgotten your username, click Forgot your username? to receive an email with a link that you can click to reset your username.

Register your PC in myHP

If myHP is preinstalled on your computer, you can register the app the first time you turn on the computer. Otherwise, you can register the app when you launch the app for the first time.

Note:

If you complete the registration when you set up your computer, the Registration screen is not displayed when you first launch the application.

  1. In Windows, search for and open myHP.

  2. Sign in, click Next, and then select your privacy settings (if necessary).

  3. Enter the following information on the Registration screen.

    • First name

    • Last name

    • Email address

    • Country/region

  4. When you are finished entering your information, click Register.

Connect third-party products

You can connect these third-party products when you launch the online version. If you do not want to connect a third-party product, click Skip this step.

  • Dropbox (consumer PCs only): Enter your email address and password, and then click Sign-in with email.

  • ExpressVPN (consumer PCs only): Enter your email address, and then click Submit.

  • McAfee: Enter your email address, and then click Next.

Available options

You can adjust audio, video, privacy, and other options using myHP.

  1. On the left side of the app, click Devices, and then click PC Devices.

  2. Click the setting you want to adjust. Choose from the following settings:

    • Audio control: Configure audio settings. These options are not available if the standalone Audio Controls app is installed on your computer.

    • Video control: Configure video settings.

    • Display control (select consumer PCs only): Configure display settings.

    • System control: Configure thermal and performance modes to optimize your PC for your performance, fan noise, and cooling preferences. If you have an OLED display, you can enable a power-saving mode.

    • Battery manager: Manage power settings and view battery information.

      The following charging options are available:

      • Optimize battery performance: Automatically manages your battery to improve its health and charge.

      • Maximize battery health: Limits the maximum state-of-charge on the notebook battery to 80% of the maximum state-of-charge for the battery, which has been proven to optimize battery health and helps mitigate battery swelling due to high state-of-charge. HP recommends using this setting if your notebook is always connected to AC power or if your notebook is more than a year old.

      • Schedule battery charging: Set specific times for your notebook to use the internal battery even if it is connected to AC power.

    • Programmable key (select business notebook PCs only): Create a keyboard shortcut to open apps or files.

      Note:

      The Fusion and HP Hotkey Support - UWP drivers must be installed on the computer.

    • Privacy alert (select business PCs only): Enable privacy notifications.

      Note:

      The Fusion driver must be installed on the computer.

    • Auto screen dimming (select business PCs only): Enable screen privacy.

      The Fusion driver must be installed on the computer.

    • RGB keyboard: Choose your preferred keyboard lighting options.

    • Pen control (select PCs only): Configure pen settings.

    • Mouse: Configure mouse settings.

    • 5G: Configure network options

    • Support: Access additional resources and troubleshooting tools, including chat with a live agent.

Support for HP All-In Plan for Print (United States only)

If you have the HP All-In Plan for Print, click the Support tab in myHP, and then select your printer to find information about the subscription plan, links to the HP Smart app, self-help support, and contact options.

Support tab

The available information about your HP All-In Plan for Print includes the product and serial numbers of the covered device, your Plan ID, and the start date of your plan. You can also see any support cases that you’ve submitted, including both open and closed cases.

You can click your account icon on the top menu bar, select Go to my account, and then select the Subscriptions tab to manage your HP All-In Plan for Print subscription.
