HP printers - Advanced print settings are missing (Windows 11)

You cannot change certain advanced print settings when using Windows 11 built-in print drivers, such as color, paper size and type, two-sided (duplex), and resolution.

To fix the issue, remove the printer from Windows and reinstall the latest built-in drivers.

  1. With the printer on and connected to your computer, search Windows for and open Printers & scanners.

  2. Select the name of your printer in the list, and then click Remove > Yes.

  3. From Printers & scanners, click Add device.

    • If your printer name displays, click Add device, and then wait for Windows to install the latest drivers.

    • If your printer name does not display, go to HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) for help with setting up and connecting the printer.

  4. If the issue persists, go to 123.hp.com to download the recommended HP print drivers.
