HP ScanJet Enterprise Flow 5000 s4, Enterprise Flow 7000 s3 Sheet-feed Scanner - Scan to a cloud service using an HP scanning software

Introduction

This document provides instructions on how to scan and send the scanned file to any of the following cloud storage service using an HP Smart Document Scan Software from an HP ScanJet Enterprise Flow 5000 s4 or an HP ScanJet Enterprise Flow 7000 s3 Sheet-feed Scanner:
  • DropBox
  • Evernote
  • SharePoint
  • SkyDrive
  • SugarSync

Scan and save a file to a cloud destination

Follow these steps to scan and save a file to a cloud destination:

Step one: Review the requirements

Make sure you preview the following requirements:
  • You have an account with a cloud service.
  • The scanner is connected to your computer desktop using a USB cable when scanning from an HP Smart Document Scan Software.
  • Your computer desktop is connected to the Internet to access the HP Support page and the cloud service.

Step two: Download and install an HP scan software

note:
Before performing the following steps, make sure to close or exit from the HP Smart Document Scan Software.
Follow these steps to download and install the scan software file (.exe) on your computer desktop:
  1. Depending on your scanner model, select one of the links to download the HP scan software from the following table:

  2. Select your operating system.
  3. Expand the Firmware - System section.
  4. Select the HP ScanJet 7000 S3 and 5000 S4 Software Destination Plug-in file.
  5. Click Download, and then click Run.
  6. Save the .exe file on your computer.
    note:
    Make sure to note the location of the saved file.

Step three: Scan and send files to a cloud destination

Follow these steps to send the scanned files to a cloud destination:
  1. Load the pages for scanning into the input tray, and then adjust the paper guides to the width of the pages.
    note:
    HP recommends to follow the guidelines in the "Document loading tips" and "Supported paper sizes and types" sections in the User Guide when loading pages using the scanner
  2. Double-click the HP Smart Document Scan Software icon on your computer desktop to open the software.
  3. In the HP Smart Document Scan Software, select a scanner.
  4. Select a profile from the Select a Scan Profile list.
  5. To change the profile settings, make sure the profile is selected and then click Edit profile....

  6. On the Profile Settings dialog box, select the Scan Settings tab to change the scan setting options, if required, and then click Save.
  7. On the Profile Settings dialog box, select the Destinations tab, and then click Send To.
  8. Click the Add... button.
  9. In the Add Destination dialog box, select a destination from the Destination drop-down list, and then click Next.

  10. Type your username and password to connect to the cloud service.
  11. Click OK , click Save, and then click Scan.
