HP LaserJet and HP LaserJet MFP Printers - MIPA-PIN and MIPA License Installation Guide

Information

This document provides the prerequisites to install the MIPA-PIN and Mipa license.

Details

Prerequisites:
1 - MIPA-PIN on a MFP and Mipa on LaserJet with a file system (Hard Disk, DIMM, Compact Flash, or USB) installed.
2 - MIPA-PIN or Mipa Supported Printer (See matrix later in this document).
3 - Printer User Guide with reference to Printer Memory and Expansion.
4 - PC Workstation that can access the Embedded Web Server (Webpage) of the printer.
note:
If the MIPA-PIN/Mipa device or software is not installed, please contact HP support if assistance is needed with installing it.
MIPA-PIN/Mipa System Requirements:
MIPA-PIN requires specific versions of HP firmware and HP products, as follows:
  • HP Color LaserJet 9500mfp or HP LaserJet 9040/9050mfp - version 08.041.8 or later
  • HP LaserJet 4345mfp - version 09.041.8 or later
  • HP Color LaserJet 4730mfp - version 46.121.2 or later

Verify if MIPA-PIN/Mipa is being recognized by the printer:
Print a Configuration Page from the front panel of the printer, and look at the second page, which is titled Capella Technologies Firmware Page. Under the Installed Options, you should see the following information:
