HP LaserJet Pro - Print from a USB flash drive

Introduction

This printer features walk-up USB printing, for quickly printing files without sending them from a computer. The printer accepts standard USB flash drives in the USB port that is located on the front of the printer. It supports the following types of files:
  • .pdf
  • .jpg
  • .prn and .PRN
  • .pcl and .PCL
  • .ps and .PS
  • .doc and .docx
  • .ppt and .pptx
The M426, M427, M452, M377, and M477 printer models support the following additional file types:
  • .cht and .CHT
  • .pxl

Print documents from a USB flash drive

Follow these steps to print documents from a USB flash drive:
  1. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the front of the printer, and then wait until the printer detects the flash drive.
  2. On the screen that displays, touch Print Documents.
  3. Scroll to and touch the name of the file that you want to print.
    note:
    If the file is stored in a folder, touch the name of the folder, and then scroll to and touch the name of the file.
  4. On the Print from USB screen, touch any of the options to change the settings for the print job. These options vary depending on the printer model.
    note:
    For additional options, touch the Settings icon (on M329, M428-M429, M454dw, and M479 models only). Once you have selected the desired options, touch the Back button to return to the Print from USB screen.
  5. Touch Print to print the job.
  6. Retrieve the printed job from the output bin, and then remove the USB flash drive from the USB port.
