Samsung Xpress SL-M2070-M2079 Laser MFP - Loading Paper

This document provides instructions on how to load paper into the paper tray.

note:
  • If you do not adjust the guide, it may cause paper registration, image skew, or paper jams.
  • Illustrations on this user guide may differ from your printer depending on its options or models. Check your printer type.

Loading paper in the tray

Use the following steps to load paper into the tray.
  1. Open the tray (1). Then, adjust the tray size to the media size you are loading (2).

  2. Flex or fan the edge of the paper stack to separate the pages before loading.

  3. Place the paper with the side you want to print on facing up.

    note:
    • Do not push the paper width guides far enough to cause the materials to warp.
    • Do not use paper with a leading-edge curl, it might cause a paper jam or wrinkle the paper.
    • If you do not adjust the paper width guide, it might cause paper jams.

  4. Squeeze the paper width guide and slide it to the edge of the paper stack without causing it to bend.

  5. Set the paper type and size for the tray.

Manual feeding in the tray

The paper tray can hold special sizes and types of print material, such as postcards, note cards, and envelopes.
Tips on using the manual feeding in tray:
  • If you select Paper > Source > Manual Feeder from your printer driver, you must press OK each time you print a page.
  • To prevent paper jams, do not add paper while printing when there is still paper in the tray.
  • Load print media face up in the center of the tray with the top edge going into the tray first.
  • To ensure print quality and to prevent paper jams, only use approved paper types.
  • Flatten any curl on postcards, envelopes, and labels before loading them into the tray.
  • When printing on special media, you must follow the loading guidelines. (see the next section, "Printing on special media")
  • Load only one type, size and weight of print media at a time in the in the tray.

Printing on special media

To change the paper setting set in the printer, set the paper type from the Printing Preferences window > Paper tab > Paper Type.
For example, if you want to print on labels, select Label for Paper Type.

When using special media, feed one sheet at a time.
