HP Z200 Workstation - 6 Beeps at Power On, No Boot

Issue

Six beeps at the Power On Self Test indicate a video issue. Either the graphics device is not present or it is malfunctioning.
note:
There are specific considerations for the z200 Workstation series. Depending on the installed CPU type some systems have integrated video, some do not have integrated video and thus need a add-in PCI-E graphics card to work.

Solution

  1. Make sure that the system contains a PCI-E video card or a CPU type that features video: Integrated Graphics is embedded on Intel dual-core Processors i5/i3/Pentium/Celeron Series, not on Intel quad-core Xeon Processor 3400 Series.
  2. If it does not work, reseat the PCI-E graphics card.
  3. If reseating the PCI-E graphics card did not resolve the issue, then replace the PCI-E graphics card.
