HP Designjet T1100 and T1120 MFP Series Products - Access Shared Files

Access shared files

The following instructions explain how to access the shared files folder on your HP Designjet scanner from other computers on the same network.
To access shared files you will need to know:
The IP address of your HP Designjet scanner.
The system administrator may have applied protection for shared file access. If this is the case you will also need:
The Login and password for FTP/WebDAV access.
You can download files from the shared folder simply by entering the IP address into a Web browser's address field. You will be prompted for the FTP/WebDAV access login and password if protection was applied by your system administrator.
To obtain the IP address information directly from the system:
note:
If an Administrator password has been setup and activated, you will be prompted for it before being able to enter the "Advanced" dialog to view the IP address information directly from the system as described below. Contact your system's administrator for the IP address information If you are prompted for the administrative password and do not know it.
  1. Select the Setup Tab
  2. Select Options, System, Advanced button
  3. Enter the administrative password if prompted.
  4. Press the Network Settings button to view the IP address information
note:
You can also access shared files through FTP protocol. For this you will need the same information as stated above - i.e., the IP address of your HP Designjet scanner and the login and password for FTP/WebDAV access if protection was applied. You will also need a FTP client program.

Access shared files from Mac OS 8 or 9

Under Mac OS 8 and 9 there is no native client to access a Web folder directly, so you should download a WebDAV client to access the shared folder. You can, for example, download the Goliath client from http://www.webdav.org/goliath/ and install it.
WebDAV stands for Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning: it is a set of extensions to the HTTP protocol that allows users to edit and manage files collaboratively on remote Web servers.
