This document is for HP DeskJet GT 5810, 5811, 5820, 5821, and 5822 All-in-One printers.

The control panel includes multiple buttons and lights to use your printer and a control panel display to display print options and error conditions.

Review the control panel buttons, lights, and display icons for the HP DeskJet GT 5810.

Control panel buttons and lights

The printer control panel has several buttons and lights to interact with your printer.

1. Control panel display

Indicates number of copies, paper errors, and printhead status.

Cancel button

Stops the current operation.

Resume button and light

Resumes a job after a disruption (for example, after loading paper or clearing a paper jam). The light indicates that the printer is in a warning or error state.

Start Copy Color button

Starts a color copy job.

Start Copy Black button

Starts a black-and-white copy job.

6. Power button

Turns the printer on or off.

7. Printhead Alert light

Indicates printhead problems.

Control panel icons

The printer control panel has several icons that indicate functions or errors.

The following list describes the control panel display icons:

1. Number of copies icon

Shows the number of copies when you are copying documents, and alternates between the letter E and a number when the printer is in an error state.

Error icon

Indicates an error.

Paper Error icon

Indicates a paper-related error.

Printhead icons

The left printhead icon shows the status of the tri-color printhead, and the right icon shows the status of the black printhead. One or both of the icons blinking indicates an error with that printhead.

The printer control panel has several buttons and lights to interact with your printer.

1. Control panel display

Indicates number of copies, paper errors, wireless status and signal strength, Wi-Fi Direct status, and printhead status.

Cancel button

Stops the current operation.

Wireless button and light

Turns the printer's wireless capabilities on or off. The light indicates whether the printer is connected to a wireless network.

Wi-Fi Direct button and light

Turns Wi-Fi Direct on or off. The light indicates the on or off status of Wi-Fi Direct.

Start Copy Color button

Starts a color copy job.

6. Power button

Turns the printer on or off.

Indicates printhead problems.

Information button

Prints out an printer information page. Press the button in combination with the Wireless button, the Wi-Fi Direct button, or the HP ePrint button to get more specific help pages tied to each of those buttons. The light indicates that you can press the Information button to get help.
