To resolve this issue perform one (1) of the following procedures:
Procedure 1: Enable
Connected Standby in BIOS setting.
- Power on Computer.
- Immediately press Esc button during startup (Esc button displays the startup menu).
- Press F10, select Advance and choose Device Configurations.
- Scroll down to Connected Standby.
- Check the box to enable Connected Standby.
- Press the F10 key to accept the change.
- Click Yes on the Save Changes screen to exit the BIOS.
- Sign into Windows and open Device Manager.
- Tap or click arrow to expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Verify Realtek High Definition Audio is displayed correctly.
- Close Device Manager.
Procedure 2: If
Connected Standby is disabled in BIOS, run HP Software Setup to reinstall the audio driver.
- On the Start screen, tap or click the Search button to open Search.
- Enter HP Software Setup in the Search field.
- Select HP Software Setup from the results list.
- Tap or click Yes when the User Account Control (UAC) appears.
- The HP Software Setup utility will open.
- Tap or click Hardware Enabling Drivers.
- Locate and select the Realtek HD Audio Driver.
- Tap or click Install.
- Allow the installation process to complete the driver install.
- Tap or click Continue.
- The computer will restart.
- Sign into Windows and open Device Manager.
- Tap or click Sound, video and game controllers.
- Verify Realtek High Definition Audio is displayed correctly.
