HP Compaq dc7700 Convertible Minitower PC - Removing and Replacing the Hard drive
Minimum skill level
The End User requires no hardware-specific training to replace the defective part. The End user should have familiarity with system hardware and software requiring repair.

Failure to comply with the precautions could result in damage to your product or loss of data. -
Remove the Access panel. Click here for instructions on how to remove the access panel.
note:
This system supports SATA drives only. You do not have to select a cable setting. -
Disconnect the data and power cables from the drive.

Pull out on the green drive release latch and slide the drive out of the drive cage.
note:
If the replacement drive does not include guide screws, remove and reuse the screws from this drive.
Hard drive replacement

Align the guide screws on the drive with the guide slots in the drive bay and push the drive into the bay until it snaps into place.

Connect the power and data cables to the drive.
