HP Flat Panel Monitors - Color Screens (Red, Green, Blue) Appear Instead of Standby Screen

This document pertains to vs15, vs17, and vs19 monitors.
When the monitor goes into standby, the monitor does not go black; instead, it cycles full screens of red, green, and blue color.

These screens are used at the factory to prepare the monitor and should not appear after it the monitor has been packaged.
If your monitor displays these screens, open the onscreen display and reset the monitor settings to factory default as follows:
  1. Open the onscreen display.

  2. Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons to highlight Advanced Menu.

  3. Press the Select button to open the Advanced menu.

  4. Select Factory Reset from the Advanced menu.
  5. Select Yes.
  6. Press the Menu button to close the onscreen display.
    The monitor should show the correct behavior when going into standby mode.
