Follow the instructions below to install the PostScript RIP.

Close any unnecessary programs that are running on the computer

Insert the PostScript RIP CD into the CD-ROM drive. The installation program should automatically run. If not, click Start, and then Run. At the command line box, type the letter of the computer's CD-ROM drive followed by :\SETUP.EXE. For example, if the CD-ROM drive letter is D, type D:\SETUP.EXE.

Select the desired language and then click OK and files will be copied to the HP CP1700PS RIP folder.

Select Agree when the license agreement is displayed.

Select the port to which the printer is physically connected.

When asked to clear application preferences, click Yes and the README.TXT file will be displayed.

Restart the computer and the HP CP1700PS icon is installed on the Desktop.

When the Setup window appears, select LPT1 as the printer port.

When the blue screen appears, click Next.

Accept the License Agreement and then click Next.

Select Directly connect to the printer or Connect via network and then click Next.

Select the Hot Folder as the port.

On the Select Printer Model screen, Generic Printer will be displayed. Select Browse and Browse to the path: C:\Program Files\Hp CP1700PS Rip\PPD and select the CP1700PS and then click OK.

Select the CP1700PS and then click Next.

Select the printer as the default and to print a test page and then click Next.

When asked to Configure the Printer, click Yes and then choose the correct paper sizes and tray selections.

Click Finish and the CP1700PS icon will appear in the printers folders.
