Uninstall the HP software, drivers, and apps used with HP printers.
Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list.
Disconnect the printer from the computer or network.
In Windows, search for and open Add or remove programs.
In the list of installed programs, click your HP printer name, and then click Uninstall. If your printer name does not display, select HP Smart, and then click Uninstall.
If a User Account Control message displays, click Yes.
Follow the instructions to complete the software removal, and then restart the computer.
If the uninstall fails, use the Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter (in English), and then try uninstalling again.
In Windows, search for and open Control Panel.
Click Devices and Printers.
For each printer icon that represents the name of your HP printer, right-click the icon, and then click Remove Device or Uninstall device.
If no printer icons display, the printer has already been removed.
The printer software and driver is uninstalled.
Other related HP software might remain on the system. If you do not want a particular software title, uninstall it from Add or remove programs.
Uninstall the HP print driver and software from a Mac with the HP Uninstaller or HP Easy Start.
Use the HP Easy Start application to uninstall the HP drivers and software from a Mac.
Download and install HP Easy Start from 123.hp.com/setup.
From the HP Easy Start drop-down menu, select Uninstall HP Software.
Follow the steps to uninstall all HP software.
Run HP Uninstaller or delete printer folders from the Mac to uninstall the HP software and drivers.
Click the Spotlight icon , and then search for and open the Applications folder.
Open the HP or Hewlett Packard folder.
If HP Uninstaller is in the folder, double-click it, and then follow the instructions to complete the uninstall.
If HP Uninstaller is not in the folder, continue with these steps.
Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.
Click the Spotlight icon to search for and open the Printers folder.
Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.
Restart the Mac.
Right-click or press the Control key and click the Trash icon, and then select Empty Trash to complete the uninstall.
Remove the HP Smart app from your computer or mobile device.
Android: Open the Google Play Store, tap the Menu icon , and then tap My apps & games > HP Smart > Uninstall.
iOS: On the home screen, tap and hold the app, and then tap Remove App > Delete App > Delete.
Windows: Search for and open Add or remove programs. In the list of installed programs, click HP Smart > Uninstall.
macOS: Click the Spotlight icon , and then search for and open the Applications folder. Click and drag HP Smart to the Trash icon in the Dock.
HP Smart is removed from the computer without the application files.
Remove HP Smart along with the application files:
Click Go from the top menu, and then click Go to Folder.
A dialog box opens.
Type ~/Library, and then press enter.
Go to Containers, locate HP Smart or com.hp.SmartMac folder, and then remove the folder.
