HP Printers - Printing With Mopria Print Service (Android)

This document is for HP network-connected printers and Android smartphones and tablets.
Print photos, documents, webpages, and emails from your Android device to your HP network-connected printer using the Mopria Print Service Plugin, a free app available in the Google Play Store.
Step 1: Check the requirements
Before installing the Mopria Print Service plugin, make sure the printer and your Android device meet the following requirements:
  • The printer hardware is set up.
  • An Android device running OS 4.0 or later.
  • The printer is connected to a wireless or wired (Ethernet) network with an active Internet connection.
  • The Android device is connected to the same wireless network as your printer.
  • The printer and the Android device are close to the access point (router), but no closer than approximately 6 ft (1.8 m). Wireless signals can be weaker at greater distances.
Step 2: Install and turn on the Mopria Print Service plugin
Install or update the Mopria Print Service plugin from the Google Play Store, and then make sure the plugin is turned on.
  note:
Menus, icons, and the location of the print settings vary depending on Android version and device manufacturer.
  1. On your Android device, install or update the Mopria Print Service plugin (in English) from the Google Play Store.
  2. Once the installation or update is complete, choose a method to turn on the Mopria Print Service plugin:
      note:
    On Android devices with 7.0 (Nougat), the Mopria Print Service plugin is turned on automatically after installation. Skip to the step to Print with the Mopria Print Service plugin.
    • If this is the first time you installed the Mopria Print Service plugin, swipe down the home screen to display the notification dashboard, and then find Mopria Print Service service installed. Tap the Tap to enable Mopria Print Service plugin notification.

    • If you updated the Mopria Print Service plugin, tap Settings , tap More, More networks, More settings, or NFC and sharing, and then tap Print or Printing.
  3. Tap Mopria Print Service, and then tap On.

Your Android device is now ready to print using the HP Print Service Plugin.
