Learn how to scan a document and save it in a folder in the printer's memory. The document can be retrieved from the printer's
memory and printed at a later time.
Note:
The steps vary according to the type of control panel.
FutureSmart 3 touchscreen control panel
FutureSmart 4 or 5 touchscreen control panel
The following sections contain instructions on how to scan to job storage on the printer, or to print a document that was
previously saved in job storage on the printer.
Scan to job storage on the printer
Find your printer control-panel type in the options below, and then follow the steps to scan a document and save it in a folder
in the printer's memory.
FutureSmart 3
Follow these steps if your printer has a FutureSmart 3 touchscreen control panel.

Place the document face-down on the scanner glass, or place it face-up in the document feeder and adjust the paper guides
to fit the size of the document.
Load original in the document feeder

From the Home screen on the printer control panel, scroll to and touch the Save to Device Memory button.
Note:
If prompted, enter your user name and password.

Touch an existing folder name in the list, or create a new folder using the following steps:

Touch the New Folder button.

Touch the Folder Name field to open the touch keypad, type a name for the folder, and then touch OK.

Touch the Job Name field and then type a name for the job.

To make the job private, touch PIN to print, and then type a four-digit PIN (using the touch keypad) in the PIN field.

To configure settings for the document, touch the More Options button, and then touch an option in the list to change the settings.

Touch the Start button
to scan the document and save it to job storage on the printer.
FutureSmart 4 or 5
Follow these steps if your printer has a FutureSmart 4 or 5 touchscreen control panel.
In addition to the instructions below, you can view the following video of how to scan a document and save it to a folder
in the printer memory (on a printer with a FutureSmart 4 or 5 control panel).

Place the document face-down on the scanner glass, or place it face-up in the document feeder and adjust the paper guides
to fit the size of the document.

From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Scan icon, and then touch Scan to Job Storage.
Note:
If prompted, enter your user name and password.

Touch the drop-down list under Folder, and then touch the name of the default folder.
Or, if the printer administrator has configured the option, you can create a new folder using the following steps:

Touch the New Folder icon

Touch the New Folder field to open a touch keypad, type a name for the folder, and then touch OK.

Make sure that you have selected the correct folder.

Touch the Job Name field to open the touch keypad, type a name for the job, and then touch OK.

To make the job private, touch the Lock/Unlock button
, touch the PIN field to open the touch keypad, type a four-digit PIN, and then touch OK.

To configure settings, such as Sides and Content Orientation, touch Options in the lower left corner, and then touch an option in the list to change the settings. Touch Done to save changes to a setting, if prompted.

Optional Preview: Touch the right pane on the screen to preview the document. Use the Expand and Collapse buttons on the left side of the preview pane to expand and collapse the preview.

On the preview screen, use the buttons on the right side to adjust the preview and to rearrange, rotate, and add or remove
pages.

Zoom in or out on the selected page.

Rearrange the pages within the document. Select one or more pages and move them to the left or right.

Add a page to the document. The printer prompts you to scan additional pages.

Clear the changes made and start over.

When the document is ready, touch Save to scan the document and save it to the job storage folder.
Print from job storage on the printer
Find your printer control-panel type in the options below, and then follow the steps to print a document that was previously
saved in job storage on the printer.
FutureSmart 3
Follow these steps if your printer has a FutureSmart 3 touchscreen control panel.

From the Home screen on the printer control panel, scroll to and touch the Retrieve from Device Memory button.

Touch the name of the folder where the job is stored.

Touch the name of the job.
If the job is private or encrypted, enter the PIN or password when prompted.

To adjust the number of copies to print, touch the Copies field, enter the number of copies using the touch keypad, and then touch the OK button.

Touch the Start button
to print the job.
FutureSmart 4 or 5
Follow these steps if your printer has a FutureSmart 4 or 5 touchscreen control panel.

From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Print icon, and then touch Print from Job Storage.

Under Stored Job to Print, touch Choose, and then touch the name of the folder where the document is saved.

Touch the name of the document(s) that you want to print, and then touch Done.
If the document is private, enter the four-digit PIN in the Password field when prompted, and then touch OK.

To adjust the number of copies, touch the box to the left of the Print button, and then enter the number of copies using the touch keypad. Touch Done to close the keypad.

Touch Print to print the document(s).
