HP LaserJet MFP, HP PageWide Enterprise MFP, HP Managed MFP - Scan in macOS
This document provides information on several options that are available for scanning in macOS. The options vary depending on your macOS operating system and printer model.
Options include Apple's Image Capture (available in macOS 10.8 and newer), or HP Easy Scan (available in macOS 10.10 and newer).
HP multifunction printers with eSCL capability can scan in macOS 10.12 and newer when the eSCL setting is enabled. eSCL is a protocol that is needed to facilitate scanning over an AirPrint connection and is required by Apple for AirPrint-capable printers that have a scanner.
For information on how to enable the eSCL setting, go to HP LaserJet MFP, HP PageWide Enterprise MFP, HP Managed MFP - Set up the printer to scan in macOS.
