Potential escalation of privilege and arbitrary file deletion vulnerabilities have been identified with certain versions of HP Support Assistant.

A patch was released on April 1, 2020 which will automatically update HP Support Assistant clients. This patch is applied to any version of the Framework which is part of HP Support Assistant version 8.
To manually update HP Support Assistant to the latest version, please follow the steps below:
- Open HP Support Assistant from the Start menu.
- Click About in the top right.
- The latest version of the Framework containing the fix is 12.15.14.3. If this version or later of the Framework is not installed, select About and click Check for latest version to install it.
