The printer's various functions are controlled by software that resides in the printer, also known as firmware. From time to time, firmware updates from HP become available. These updates increase the printer's functionality and enhance its features. Firmware updates can be downloaded from the Internet and installed in your printer in the following ways, use the method that you find most convenient:

HP DesignJet T100, T125, T130, T525, and T530 - Firmware Upgrade
Introduction
Option 1 – Automatic Firmware Upgrade (internet connection required)
From the printer’s front panel

On the printer’s front panel tap
then Product update.

Tap Check for Update Now to check whether new firmware is available.

To enable the printer to automatically download and install firmware updates, turn On the Auto Update from the Product Update screen.

If new firmware is available, you will be given the opportunity to download and install it.
From the Embedded Web Server
-
1. On a printer with an internet connection, tap
or
on the printer’s front panel to check its IP address.

Access the printer’s Embedded Web Server by typing the printer’s IP into your web browser.

In the Embedded Web Server, select the Tools tab, then Printer Updates > Firmware Updates.

Click Check Now to check whether new firmware is available.

To enable the printer to automatically download and install firmware updates, check the Install updates automatically (recommended) option in Printer Update Options and click Apply.

If new firmware is available, you will be given the opportunity to download and install it.
Option 2 – HP DesignJet Utility (Using the firmware file downloaded from hp.com)

Download the firmware file found under the firmware tab in the printer support page:

Launch the HP DesignJet Utility and select your printer.

Select the Admin tab.

Click the Select File… button to browse to the firmware file that you just downloaded.

Click the Upload File button and follow the instructions.
