To resolve this issue, select the preferred option to download and update the driver:
Option 1: Update the driver through
Windows Updates.
- Connect the computer to the internet.
- Click
Start.
- Select the
Settings icon.
- Select
Update & security.
- Select
Windows Updates.
- Select
Check for updates.
- Windows Update will download and install the drivers automatically (a restart may be required).
- Confirm the driver is updated to version 15.9.6.1044 (or later).
- Type Dev
ice Manager in the Search field.
- Click the + (plus sign) to expand
Storage Controllers.
- Right-click
Intel(R) RST Managed Storage Controller.
- Select
Properties.
- Select the
Driver tab.
- Confirm version is updated to 15.9.6.1044 (or later).
- Perform the Windows upgrade to version 1903 again.
Option 2: Update the driver in
Device Manager.
- Type Dev
ice Manager in the Search field.
- Click the + (plus sign) to expand
Storage Controllers.
- locate
Intel(R) RST Managed Storage Controller.
- Right-click
Intel(R) RST Managed Storage Controller.
- Select
Update driver.
- Click
Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Follow the on on screen instructions to update the driver.
- When the driver update is complete, confirm the driver is updated.
- Right-click
Intel(R) RST Managed Storage Controller.
- Select
Properties.
- Select the
Driver tab.
- Confirm version is updated to 15.9.6.1044 (or later).
- Close Device Manager.
- Perform the Windows upgrade to version 1903 again.
