HP Printers - Using the HP Smart App (Mac)

This document is for HP printers and the HP Smart app for Mac.
The HP Smart app includes tools to print, scan, check ink levels, and set up your printer on a wireless network.

Step 1: Install the HP Smart app

Install the HP Smart app, and then add your printer.
  1. Go to 123.hp.com, type your printer model, and then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the app.
    note:
    Not all printers are supported by the HP Smart app at this time.
  2. Open the HP Smart app, and then add the printer to your network.
    • If you have one or more printers connected to the network, the app automatically selects a printer. Swipe left or right to select the printer you want to use. If your printer is not shown, click Printer not listed, and then follow the on-screen instructions to add another printer.

    • If you are setting up a new printer, click Printers, select Set up a new printer, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Step 2: Print or scan documents and photos

On the HP Smart app home screen, click a tile to print or scan an item from your printer, or scan images with the camera on the Mac.
