Things to do first

Step 1: Sign in to your Profile on the HP Support Assistant application to access your existing devices

Open the HP Support Assistant application on your desktop. Don’t have HP Support Assistant? Learn more here.
Navigate to the Profile tab.
Sign in using the same HP sign-in information you used to sign in on support.hp.com.

Step 2: Check for new messages on HP Support Assistant

Open the My devices tab on the HP Support Assistant application.
Select Check for updates and messages.

Step 3: Refresh your online Dashboard to receive updated information

When the message check is complete on HP Support Assistant, navigate to your Personal Dashboard using the blue navigation bar or refresh your web browser if your Personal Dashboard is currently open.
If your device information does not display correctly after a browser refresh, sign out and sign back in on support.hp.com.
On the Welcome screen, click Add your first device, and then provide the serial number of your product on the following page.
Click Submit.

You device is now added to your Personal Dashboard.

HP recommends pairing your online Personal Dashboard with the built-in HP Support Assistant application giving you access to messages, updates, and automated fixes to easily maintain your HP devices.

Your online Personal Dashboard provides a custom list of HP products to quickly find support resources specific to your individual device. With only a serial number and product number, you can add, delete, and maintain your hardware device list from a single login.

While we recommend HP Support Assistant, the online Personal Dashboard does not require any software to use the core features on the web.

In order for your device information to be shared and updated, you must use the same HP sign-in information to sign in on both the HP Support Assistant Profile tab and at support.hp.com

MyHPSupport account vs. Personal Dashboard

The new online Personal Dashboard allows you to save personal HP devices and accessories to easily access support resources without interfering with your Business and IT devices accessible from MyHPSupport.

You can use an existing HP sign-in login to access the new Personal Dashboard, but you cannot view information from your MyHPSupport account.

Also at this time, your MyHPSupport account cannot access devices or information that you have added to your Personal Dashboard. HP continues to make enhancements to the experience with future updates.

If you already have a MyHPSupport account and want to expose the Personal Dashboard features on support.hp.com, you must add at least 1 device to your profile from the My Devices tab on Support Home.

Why can’t I see my HPSA products on my Personal Dashboard?

Navigate to the Profile tab on HP Support Assistant and sign in using the same HP sign-in information used to sign in to your dashboard. Refresh your online dashboard page once you have signed in to Support Assistant.

How do I add products to my Personal Dashboard?

Sign in to your account, and then click My Dashboard. Click Add your first device on the welcome screen and provide a valid serial number on the following page. Click Add another device to add another HP product.

Your products are then seen in the My Devices tab.

How do I remove products from my Personal Dashboard?

From your Dashboard page, click Remove this product or the Remove device

icon in the My Devices tab to remove the device.

Can I add my enrolled services on my Personal Dashboard?

No, not at this time. HP continues to make enhancements to the experience with future updates.

Why is My Dashboard showing an error page?

The service may be down or is having a connection interruption while retrieving your profile and device information. Please wait a few minutes and try refreshing your Dashboard page. If that does not resolve the error page, logout of your profile and restart the sign-in process.

How do I edit my HP sign-in profile information or change my password?

Once you are signed in, you can access your account information from any support.hp.com page by selecting the dropdown menu in the top-right corner, and choosing My Account from the available options. A confirmation email is sent to your registered email address before any changes can be made.

Can I add a family member’s PC to My devices list?

Yes. When you sign in you can add additional PC’s and other HP devices.

Can I update a family members PC shown in My Devices remotely from my PC?

No. You might be able to see device information, but updates can only be applied directly from the targeted PC.

What kind of messages might I receive from HP?

Messages are helpful tips and information that HP publishes from time to time. Messages can also be important alerts related to the security or functionalities of your computer or devices. Messages can be about anything from cleaning your desktop to computer security.

How do I check the status of my warranty?

From your Dashboard page, select the Warranty tile for each device to check the warranty status.

How do I change the nickname of My Devices?

From your dashboard page, select the Edit

icon next to any device nickname to change your custom device label.

Can I tag documents or Software and Drivers to my Personal Dashboard?

The documents or software and drivers are already tagged to the Software & drivers, Product information, or How to & troubleshooting tiles of each product.

Can I add devices from other manufacturers?

No, only HP devices.

How do I contact HP technical support?

Select Contact Support from the blue navigation bar to review your available contact options.
