HP Printers - Printing with Cortana

This document is for HP web-connected printers and Android, Apple iOS, and Cortana voice-enabled devices.
Activate the HP Printer Skill to ask Cortana to print pre-formatted content such as puzzles, calendars, and coloring pages.
Step 1: Obtain your printer's email address
To activate the HP Printer Skill, you need your web-connected printer's email address to establish a web-based connection between the printer and Cortana. The address can be found on the printer control panel or by printing a Web Services information sheet.
  note:
If you already know your printer email address, skip to the next step.
  1. Turn on the printer, load plain paper in the input tray, and make sure ink or toner cartridges are installed.
  2. On the printer, touch or press the HP ePrint button or icon . If you do not have an HP ePrint button or icon, choose your printer control panel display type to find the printer email address:
    • Text-based menu displays: Select Setup, Settings, Wireless Settings, or Network Setup to locate the Web Services menu.
    • LED or buttons-only displays: Press Info and Cancel at the same time, or press Info and Web Services at the same time to print a Web Services information sheet.
If the email address does not display, choose one of the following depending on the Web Services status:
    • If Web Services is off, follow any instructions to turn on the feature and check for printer updates. An information sheet automatically prints with instructions to get the email address.
    • If Web Services is already turned on, touch Print or Print Info to print the information sheet that has the email address.
    • If an information sheet does not print or the email is not listed, turn off and then turn on Web Services to get a new printer email address.
Step 2: Connect the printer to Cortana
Before you print from the HP Printer Skill, you must connect your printer to Cortana and activate the HP Printer Skill.
  1. On your mobile device, install the Cortana app.
      note:
Windows 10 computers and mobile devices have Cortana pre-installed.
    • Android devices: Go to Cortana (in English) from the Google Play store.
    • Apple iOS devices: Go to Cortana (in English) from the App Store.
  2. Open the Cortana app, and then sign in to your Microsoft account or create an account.
  3. Click or tap the microphone icon, and then say, "Cortana, talk to HP Printer."
    The HP Printer Skill launches.
Sign in to your Microsoft account
  4. On the HP Printer Skill screen, click or tap Sign in with Microsoft, type your email or phone number in the appropriate field, click Next, and then follow the on-screen prompts.
