HP Printers - Printing with Cortana

This document is for HP web-connected printers and Android, Apple iOS, and Cortana voice-enabled devices.
Activate the HP Printer Skill to ask Cortana to print pre-formatted content such as puzzles, calendars, and coloring pages.

Step 1: Get your printer's email address

To activate the HP Printer Skill, you need your web-connected printer's email address to establish a web-based connection between the printer and Cortana. The address can be found on the printer control panel or by printing a Web Services information sheet.
If you already know your printer email address, skip to the next step.

Step 2: Connect the printer to Cortana

Before you print from the HP Printer Skill, you must connect your printer to Cortana and activate the HP Printer Skill.
  1. On your mobile device, install the Cortana app.
    note:
    Windows 10 computers and mobile devices have Cortana pre-installed.
    • Android devices: Go to Cortana (in English) from the Google Play store.
    • Apple iOS devices: Go to Cortana (in English) from the App Store.
  2. Open the Cortana app, and then sign in to your Microsoft account or create an account.
  3. Click the microphone icon, and then say, "Cortana, talk to HP Printer."
    The HP Printer Skill launches.

  4. On the HP Printer Skill screen, click Sign in with Microsoft, type your email or phone number in the appropriate field, click Next, and then follow the on-screen prompts.
    If you do not have a Microsoft account, click Create one, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

  5. Click Yes to allow HP Printer Skill access to your calendar and Microsoft profile.
  6. Type your printer's email address, and then click Finish and start printing.

  7. Click Yes to allow Cortana access and activate the HP Printer Skill.
    Your printer is now ready to print from HP Printer Skill.
