This document is for HP printers connected to a computer with Windows 10 in S mode.
Set up an HP printer on a Windows 10 in S mode computer for a USB or network connection.
Windows 10 in S mode supports printing with built-in drivers for many HP printer models. Windows 10 in S mode does not support most traditional executable files. You cannot install printer drivers from an installation CD or from the HP Customer Support site.

If you are connecting the printer to the computer with a USB cable, power on the printer, and then connect the cable to an available USB port on the computer. The computer automatically detects your printer and installs the driver.
For a guided printer setup for a USB, wireless, or wired network connection, go to HP Smart (in English), install the app, and then follow the instructions to set up your printer.
