Recommended HP drivers, apps, and updates

Use these options to download drivers, additional printer software, and updates for HP printers.

Full feature drivers (Windows and Mac): 123.hp.com is a convenient guided download and installation service for the latest driver and software package. HP full feature driver packages guide you through connecting the printer to your local wireless network and include HP Scan software.
Full and basic drivers, printer software, and updates (Windows, Mac, and Linux): HP Software and Driver Downloads posts any available drivers, additional printing and scanning software, and firmware updates for most printers and operating system versions.
HP Smart app (Windows 10): Includes tools to print, scan, check ink levels, and set up your printer on a wireless network. Go to Using the HP Smart App (Windows 10) for more information.
Printer firmware updates: Go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware for steps to update directly from the printer or download the firmware from HP Customer Support.

Built-in operating system drivers and solutions (Windows and Mac)

Windows and Mac computers include print and scan drivers for most HP printers. These drivers install automatically when you connect the printer USB cable to the computer or add a network printer to the devices list.

HP Print for Chrome app (Chromebooks)

Go to Printing with the HP Print for Chrome App to set up USB and wireless printing through the Google Chrome browser. You do not need to download any print drivers or software from the HP website or Google to print with the app.

Printer apps (Android and Apple smartphones and tablets)

Mobile devices do not require print drivers. Instead, use an HP app, HP plugin, or Apple AirPrint.

What if installing the driver did not resolve my printer issue?

If you are experiencing a printing or scanning issue, such as unsatisfactory prints, wireless connection problems, or an error displays, a driver or printer update might not resolve the issue. Go to HP Customer Support, enter your printer model name and number, and then search or browse for the document for your issue.

Can I use the software disc that shipped with the printer?

Yes, but the driver might be outdated or not compatible with newer operating systems. If the disc installation fails and you require discs to install your printer, check if replacement installation discs are available on the HP website.

Go to HP Software & Driver Downloads, and then enter your product number to view the available software and driver downloads for your printer.
Look through the available software for Order Physical Media - CD/DVD/USB.
- If the media is available, click Order Media, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the order.
- If the media is not available, consider downloading the driver listed under Driver-Product Installation Software.
